The 80 GB WD Caviar SE Internal EIDE Hard Drive from Western Digital is designed to enhance desktop computer performance for activities requiring high-performance storage such as computer gaming, digital video editing, and file server applications. It features spindle speed of 7200 rpm and an average read seek time of up to 8.9 ms. This hard drive comes with Enhanced IDE interface delivering transfer rates up to 100 MBps, and an 8 MB buffer to facilitate fast data access. The incorporated Data Lifeguard features an expanded set of data protection tools which include shock protection, environmental protection system, embedded error detection and repair features that automatically find, isolate and repair problem areas that may develop over extended use of the hard drive. With these enhanced data reliability features, the drive can perform accurate monitoring and error repairing besides, delivering high data security.
