The Wireless Ethernet Adapter includes Atheros AR2312 Wireless System-on-a-Chip Broadband Communication Processor/Wireless MAC, Atheros AR2112 Radio-on-a-Chip and Kendin KS8721B Ethernet PHY. The AR2312/AR2112 (AR5002 chipset) is a finely integrated Wireless chipset.
The AR5002 chipset supports both the IEEE Std 802.11b(2.4GHz-band) and IEEE Std 802.11g (2.4GHz-band) system. The Wireless Ethernet Adapter can trans-fer LAN speeds up to 54Mbps.
This device comes with one built-in 10/100Mbps port, providing instant connection to Fast Ethernet servers and workstations. This port supports auto-sensing of network speeds, full/half duplex and MDI/MDI-X auto crossover.
With a built-in IEEE 802.11b/g wireless LAN interface, the Ethernet Adapter provides a wireless connection (with speeds up to 54Mbps) to any computer using a standard Ethernet connection (RJ-45). WEP 64 and 128 bit encryption are supported. WPA, WPA-PSK wireless security will be supported in a future firmware upgrade.
